Brito Bike Travel respects the privacy of everyone who visits this website and uses our services. Here we explain what data we collect, why we collect it and what your rights are, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we collect
We only collect the data you give us voluntarily or with your explicit consent, namely:
- Identification and contact data: name, email, mobile number and, where needed, address.
- Request or booking data: dates, service or tour, number of people and bikes, pick-up and drop-off locations, luggage and any notes you send us.
- Billing and payment data, when you make an online booking. Card details are handled directly by the payment service provider and are not stored by us.
- Browsing data, such as browser type, operating system, where the visit came from and how long it lasted, collected through cookies. See the Cookie Policy.
3. What we use the data for

Your data is only processed for the purpose for which it was collected.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell or pass on your data to third parties without your consent. We may share it only when necessary:
- with partners and suppliers involved in providing the service you booked (for example accommodation, transport or insurance);
- with processors that provide services to us, such as website hosting, email and online payments, who process the data on our behalf and are required to keep it confidential and secure;
- when required by law or needed to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
Data is stored on servers located in the European Economic Area. If a processor handles data outside the European Economic Area, this only happens with the safeguards required by the GDPR.
5. How long we keep the data
We keep your data only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Billing data is kept for the period required by tax law. Data used to send marketing information is kept until you withdraw your consent.
6. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, destruction, alteration and unauthorised access, and we regularly review our systems. However, no transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we do not recommend sending confidential information by email.
7. Your rights
You may at any time request access to your data, its rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and object to its processing. You may also withdraw the consent you gave us, without affecting processing carried out before that date.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD) at www.cnpd.pt.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services or to the law. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
